what the heck is creative placemaking?
Creative placemaking is defined as “a process where community members, artists, arts and culture organizations, community developers, and other stakeholders use arts and cultural strategies to implement community-led change.” (American Planning Association)
Sabertooth uses creative placemaking to help invigorate communities through public art that reflects, connects with and enhances neighborhoods.
As creative placemakers, we serve as CREATORS, EDUCATORS, CURATORS and ADVOCATES for arts & culture in our region. We directly foster relationships with diverse partners to add artistic vibrancy and one-of-a-kind public art, elevate the economic footprint of a region, inspire capacity building among residents to take ownership of their communities, and help share their talents and their stories.
